SHS assistant professor Mary Flaherty discusses speech perception on podcast

Speech and Hearing Science assistant professor Mary Flaherty appeared on the Made in the Middle podcast episode titled, "That Sounds Good," discussing her research on how our experiences shape our perception of speech and voice.

Flaherty's recent research has looked at the way age and listening experience influence our perception of voice pitch, voice intonation patterns and vocal tract length when perceiving speech in complex acoustic environments.

Lab members participate in Walk4Hearing

We successfully participated in and raised $515 for the Chicago Walk4Hearing. 60% of the funds go to the Hearing Loss Assoc of American (HLAA) and 40% of those funds go to our very own Audiology Clinic here at the U of I!
